Photo enhancement simply means enhancing the existing qualities of the photo image. For example,
enhancement means brightening and refreshing colors, when they're faded, sharpening a slightly
blurred image, or smoothing an image to remove slight graininess due to texture present on the
original paper. It can mean color-correcting the

overall color of a water or light-damaged image,
or parts of the image most affected by that kind of damage. Enhancement of certain types of older
"instant" photographs, which then were printed on a honeycomb textured paper, is time-consuming,
and removal of the texture will incur additional time-charges to the client. In such cases, it
is simpler to leave the texture - it was present on the original, anyway - and only correct
damage to the image or colors in the image. Colorization of highly texturized images is
generally possible, but may incur additional time-related charges.
