* * Many photo restoration shops will not undertake facial reconstruction, other than very minor blemish repairs. We will attempt a facial repair when enough details remain that we can use to duplicate or approximate missing features, and the facial image is not angled greatly from the focal point of the photo.
Note: Multiple person images such old military photos often require far more time than a single-person photo or portrait to repair or reconstruct, particularly when the original photo surface is heavily cracked. We bill based on time estimated to repair on such images, with the minimum repair cost being the cost of a Severe Restoration. A repair such as the one shown on our entrance page - a very difficult project which was rejected as "impossible" by other photo restoration businesses - may run as much as $1000.00 US, since such a repair is extremely time-consuming, and is considered a project, rather than a regular job, and may require considerable time to repair or reconstruct. Projects of this nature are considered second-level priority, and use generally used as fill work. A turnaround period of least six (6) weeks for such a project is not unusual, and it may take much longer, depending on the amount of detail involved.

*Since high quality, high resolution images are large in filesize - and to retain quality,
we use high resolutions, ranging from 300 to 2400 dpi (dots per inch) depending on the original image's dimensions - the number of images on an Archive CD will vary. The larger the images, the fewer images on the CD. You can plan on getting four or five 8x10 images on a CD in high quality, uncompressed, TIFF (Tagged Information Format file), but could get as many as 20 or 30 4x6 inch or 3x5 inch or smaller images on one Archive CD. If super-high quality isn't a large concern, the images can be made to take less space, meaning more images on a CD. However, the use of compressed files always means some loss of image quality. For that reason, all our Archive CD images are preserved in TIFF format, a universally recognised format, readable by 90 percent of imaging software, unless you specify otherwise, and sign our waiver.
Note: We do not make or archive Mac (TM) format TIFF images.
Your original and prints of the repaired photographs will be mailed to you following payment in full for our repair, plus shipping and handling charges.

Eagle Graphics uses state-of-the-art computer graphics equipment and software to repair and enhance your photographs. This is accomplished by digitally scanning the original photograph, and working with the scanned image. There is no change made to your original, and it will be returned to you in the same condition as we receive it, along with a print of your newly restored photograph. You will receive one (1) 4x6 inch print of the newly restored photo, in most cases, though some prints may be smaller due to the size of the original.
Note: Colorization of many black and white photographs can be done with quite satisfactory results. You can see examples of a few we've done in our Photo Gallery. Some black and white photographs do not colorize well, however, due to one of three conditions: the original photograph is extremely dark, or is out-of-focus (blurred, and not readily repaired), or contains so many objects which must be colorized individually that the client cannot justify the intensive labor charges for such a repair. Colorization is an art, rather than a science.
Eagle Graphics' charges are based on the time an artist- technician will spend to repair any particular photo. Each image is different than another. For this reason, we won't quote an exact repair amount until we receive your photo and scan it to see what repairs are necessary.
Make sure your photo is protected from damage when shipping to us by sandwiching it between two hard cardboard sheets, and soft cardboard sheets outside those. We suggest you send all photos by U.S. Mail, insured for value.
